Gall Stones and Small fish

Interesting weekend. I spent about 6 hours friday night in the ER with tubes, IV's and wires connected all over me. Im fine but the good docters at Howard County ER thought I was having a heart attack. After doing a zillion test like EKG's, Cat scans and X-rays they decided my heart was fine and to go home and go see a regular doctor on Monday. I went to see the doc today and he said that I likely passed a gallstone. I would advise everyone to make every effort to somehow not create a large gallstone in your innards becuase if you do you are in for about two hours of sheer misery and excruciating pain. Kinda funny b/c when this crazy pain started I was in Dicks sporting goods to get a fishing license. People at work today (before the gallstone diagnosis) were saying that I was so excited to get my fishing license that I had a heart attack. Those of you who know me know that I get pretty excited for things like fishing and hunting so that diagnosis was not all that unreasonable.

You may want to set the old alarm tonight for 1am (EST) and check for a BOC on woot. They had a BOC last april fools day and they may have another tonight. I kinda doubt that they will but I will be setting the old alarm just in case. FYI last years april fools BOC cost $1,000,001.00
and you had to search the site for a hidden one million dollar instant rebate.

I did go fishing on Sunday with Char. We didn't catch much but had a good time and got to get all the gear ready. Trophy Striper season starts here on April 19th and well be ready.

this was the largest bass that we caught, kinda pathetic.

Chars Bluegill and her awesome camo deer hat.

The rig!!

-Ironically if you have gallstones you should be eating more fish.

random crap of the non-woot variety part 6

Wow. Sorry I have not posted in a while. Since I have to leave for work in about 20 mins Im gonna give you the quick run down in my favorite writing style, bullets.

-I was supposed to be going to Pittsburgh today for a field job but that got delayed until next week.
-I installed both roof racks and a new radio in my truck, I am beginning to think that I can open and fix random household items. This false sense of security has already let to the destruction of two items.
-I wooted six ipod cases yesterday for no particular reason and last week I wooted a blue tooth headset and a blue tooth USB adapted even though I will never use and I make fun of anyone who does.
- I found what is perhaps the funniest website I have ever seen, click here. Thanks Gena for turning me on to this gem.
-I would not recommend cheddar cheese flavored Ramon noodles.
-We booked our Hooney moon trip to Europe. We are going all over the place, I think to five or six different countries. Charlotte is a researching machine and got us this crazy deal for an awsome trip, great job babe.

I have to go to work but I will make a concerted effort to update more often.

Country Roads....

I'm working on a field job in Charleston, West Virginia. Ive been out here since Monday and if things go well than I will be going home tomorrow. Its an interesting place, everyone has really heavy West Virginia accent, loves WVU and chews tobacco and that's not just a stereotype that's real life. We are working with another guy from our company out here and hes been picking up all the tabs for our food which is cool. Yesterday we had all-you-can-eat wings a Quaker Steak and Lube and about 8 gallons of beer. I don't know how but I got convinced to then go out to the bars in Downtown Charleston. We drank incredible amounts of beer until about two in the morning when I stumbled back to the hotel. Its been a while since I have completely disregarded any type of logic and drank this much before a day of work and I can tell that I'm getting older. I managed to get through the day and today at dinner not a single beer was consumed. Im stil dragging a bit from yesterday so Im going to bed.

"Its not a Museum, its a wind tunnel"

So Saturday night we went to this function that my work has every year. It was at the National Museum of the Marine Corp, a pretty fancy place. Anyhow they had a live band, decent buffet and an open bar. I had to remain somewhat sober because I was going to drive Char and I back to the hotel. It turns out that our hotel was located next to a classy little establishment called Hooters. So Char and I returned to the hotel, changed out of our formal clothes and headed across the parking lot to Hooters. We ordered a couple of pitchers and a huge platter of fried food. By this point in the evening both Char and I where a bit Inebriated and just enjoying the scenery this bar.

Next thing you know a huge Bar Brawl Breaks out. People are literally being punched in the face right by my feet. So a bunch of managers come over and grab some of the guys and separate them, I got to grab one of the guys also which was pretty cool. The police are called and after a minute things settle down enough for us to let the guys who where fighting go. They immediately start fighting again and I grab a guy and the same managers come back out and grab the other guys. In the midst of the insanity an older guy that was sitting behind me by himself stands up, and gets out this Giant billy club. Now this was no ordinary billy club, it was the kind that retracted into a little case that kinda looks like a flashlight but with a flick of the wrist this telescoping billy club comes flying out. You could tell that this guy paid a bunch of cash for his telescoping Billy Club and he had been carrying it around with him for years and had never had to pull it out of its fancy holster once, until now, this was his big moment. Well as soon as he brandishes the Club all hell breaks loose. Half Naked waitresses begin to scream and cry. Everybody in the joint gets up and gets ready for a Fiasco. I have this guy pinned against the bar and the guy with the club is behind me ready to whack him over the head. It was crazy.. Eventually the guys who where fighting run out before the cops come and that was pretty much the end of it. For my acts of Heroism I was rewarded with a free bar tab. In a two hour period we where at a super fancy work dinner function and a bar fight at Hooter's. I like to stay well rounded.

random crap of the non-woot variety part 5

Just a few things that I have picked up during my 25 years on this planet. Thought that I would share and perhaps help some people out.

-Never trust a man who uses the word 'sexy' as a verb to describe work.
-If someone has a blue tooth headset on while they are eating at a restaurant, simply get up, walk over and remove it off of their heads and drop it in their water glass, then return to your seat and continue eating.
-Be cautious ordering electronic items from ebay if they cost .01¢ and are located in China.

Thats about it, I just had to get that off my chest..

In a completely unrelated story watch this video from Lufthansa airlines a couple of days ago.

The Bug,,,

It been a while since Ive posted anything. The primary reason for this is that their is not much happening in my life at the current time. I cant decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing but whatever.
Its cold out and Im ready for the summer to be here. This has got to be the worst time of year. The beginning of the winter is 'cool and exciting' every year but by February I am ready for it all to be over. I am beginning to develop the fishing bug and want the weather to warm up a bit so I can start catching some Stripers (Striped Bass). My goal this year is to catch at least three large legal strper and eat it. Ideally it would be a monster but really anything legal I will be happy with. Now I know what you saying. You are saying "Collin, now that you have a truck the fish will surely be jumping out of the water directly into the bed of your rig". I know your right but the afore mentioned goals I have set do not count those fish. This would be the perfect time to insert a picture of me and a striper from last year but due to the catastrophic hard drive crash of 07' I cannot accomidate that at the current time. The stock photo will have to do.
Im also buying a Kayak. I have been doing a fair amount of research as well as looking on craigslist. I figured you could low-ball people because it was the winter time but as of now my strategy has produced no Kayak and has yielded several spiteful e-mails. Back to the drawing board.
