Third Times a Charm!!

As many of you know I was lucky enough to be able to order the July 12th bag of crap on woot. I was only able to order one because the servers where being slammed and the 'I want Three' Button was not available. I was however able to contact the good folks at woot and get them to change my order to three BOC's instead of just one. Well the waiting has been tough but Today I finally received by Bag of Crap.

What can I say, Third times a charm!! This is my third BOC and it is by far my best haul. None of the really big ticket items that you can read about on the woot forum but really good items none the less. I received the following

X3 Black and Decker Power Packs (Retail is around $24.00 X 3=$72.00)
X1 Netgear Wireless N Router (Retail is $47.95)
X1 VR3 Stero Headphones and Earbuuds (My guess is around $40.00)
X1 Targus Memory Card Case (Probably like $5.00)

Total Value for all the Crap=$164.95 ( not bad for $8 Bucks)

I'm pumped because I really wanted the power packs bad. Char needs new Headphone and although they look huge they come with earbuds as well. Well this is one happy Wooter.

For Nostalgia here is a pick of the booty from my previous BOC. This was truly all crap.

The pic of my first BOC was lost in the traumatic hard drive crash of '08 but I got a red backpack (that Char still uses), a patriotic mouse pad with an eagle superimposed over an American flag, a heart shaped clock/paperweight and some other junk.

In other Exciting news Casey Serin is back on the web. Most of you probably don't know who this is but he was some real estate investor/blogger from Sacramento that I used to read about all the time back in '07. I created my first blog with my uncle ( I suppose it could be considered the precursor to sontavas) about his blog. That's right, we had a blog about a blog. Anyhow he screwed himself royally by buying a whole bunch of houses and having to foreclose on all of them, which landed him 2 million dollars in debt, which caused him to get indicted for mortgage fraud, which caused his wife to divorce him, which caused him to flee the country to Australia-sort of, anyhow its a long story but hes back online and anyone who wants to read his new blog can read it here: www.escapemyhouse.com. I'm sure that Ill be having posts from time to time about his blog and the many "Hater" blogs that are associated with it so you may want to become familiar.

Im gonna go and play with My "Bag of Crap" now, Thanks Woot!!

This is a test of my ability to update sontavas from my phone. This could open a hole new doorway for sontavas as I can now update from anywhere. But that won't ever happen, this is truly worthless technology although its super cool. The reality of the situatuin is this: I'm sitting here on my phone with a microscopic keyboard typing for 5 min, what I could type on the size keyboard on my laptop (which is on my lap) in about 20 seconds. Gotta love technology!!

Another Notch on my Woot belt

As predicted, last night Woot offered a BOC. I managed to secure my third BOC which makes me very excited. The servers where slow as shit and I thought it was a lost cause but I managed to pull through. I was only able to purchase one bag instead of three but an e-mail has been placed to woot to see about getting my order changed to three (not likely but it was worth a shot). After reading the comments many people where unable to order three because the icon was not available. Congrats to Hoosteady on his first successful BOC. As always Ill keep you posted to what comes in the bag which could be anything from a 52" 1080P TV to a burnt stick (both have been gotten in the past). To those whom where unable to secure some crap I leave you with this: "Dont give up, dont ever give up"..

4th of July

I have told the 4th of July Assateague story so many times that you all know it by now and I don't feel like writing it out again. The 3 day camping debacle did not go exactly as planned but we did manage to make it out for a day. We had a descent little setup on the beach and the fishing was great. Here is a pic of a few of my fishing buddies:
The off road vehicle area was full so we had to lug our crap out on the beach for a day of fishing. After Lugging all of this fishing gear, chairs, coolers and so forth like 400 yards to have our own private little area a group of about twenty, (late teens/early 20's) people came up and sat down like 50 feet from us. They had beer, boogie boards and the whole nine. I thought to myself man there goes the fishing as soon as all 20 of them get in the water right next to my rods. They all set up their towels and what not and started walking toward the water. At that exact moment my rod gets slammed so I run down the rod and set the hook. I real in a pretty large skate as the group stands there and watches me real it in. So their they are boogie boards in hand and about ready to plunge in the water and as soon as they see the skate they turn around and walk back to there towels and lay down. I could not have been happier.

Here is a pic of a nice little show that happened right next to us during the day.

Other than that the 4th was fairly mundane. We ate crabs and drank some beers on Saturday night with Charlotte's Sister and her Boyfriend.

***BEER UPDATE***

Now Im not supposed to be opening my beer for another two weeks but I must admit that we cracked a few bottles this weekend and it tasted awesome!!!! I was so excited that I ran out and got everything for another batch and had a brew day on Sunday. The next batch is a Bold Nut Brown Ale and is currently fermenting rapidly in my kitchen. I added about 1.5 pounds of extra sugar extract so that there would be more fuel for the yeast and more alcohol produced. My original Specific gravity reading leads me to believe that this beer will be around 9% when its done. I cant wait.
