Zero houses

I would pick so much fucking lettuce you have no idea!! You think he may be a bit out of touch with American workers? For some of its its easy to remember that own zero houses and picking lettuce for essentially what is $104,000/year would be an amazing proposition.

Swingers?

Ive been waking up at like 5am every day and its been going great. The only problem is that I cant stay up that late at night and so Ive been missing things like the DNC. Well I was surfing the web this morning and watching some videos and just generally catching up. I watched Obama when he made a special appearance on Wednesday night after Joe Bidens Speech. The video is below.

Well I did a double take at one point. It happens about 20 seconds in the video. Here is my pathetic attempt at cropping the image (sorry its so small).

Joe seems to be kinda into it. I think I would have picked him as my running mate as well!!!

big horn sheep

Got back from Assateague Island this morning. We had an awesome time!!! I left my house at like 3:30 am and got there around 5:45, drove down the beach and there was hardly anybody out there. Fished from 6am-10pm. Consumed an incredible amount of beer because somebody else volunteered to DD and drive us back to the campground. Saw a Sika deer which I have never seen on Assateague before, in my inebriated state I thought it was either a big horn sheep or the devil, both proved to be wrong. I woke up this morning as a wild horse was pummeling my tent and threatening to step on my head. Good Times.

Ill post some pics when I get peoples digital pictures, I forgot my camera.

Which will it be???

Im trying out a new schedule. Im now waking up at like 4:45am instead of 5:45am. I enjoy having the extra hour of a day during my peak productivity time. I dont know how long it will last but its been a few days and there have been no major complications thusfar.

In unrelated news, Im going camping at Assateague island this weekend with a few guys from work. Should be an awesome time but this particular barrior island has a way of either being an amazing time -or- the worst experiance ever. Examples of past issues:

-Bugs that are immune to 100% Deet
-Wind that can outperform any tent stake.
-Rain that hurts
-Lightning that makes it look like its day time in the middle of the night.
-Biting flies that will make you look like you have Ebola.

Ive been there a bunch of times this year and I believe that I have 'Fix's' prepared for all of these scenarios. If all goes well, it can truly be one of the most memorable camping experiances ever. Which will it be???

Real Estate Flopper

Im sure that nobody who reads this really cares but Casey Serin, the 25 year old real estate investor from Sacramento who attempted to "fix and flip" a bunch of houses and ended up owing something like 2.2 million dollars is back online. I know that I have said this before and he pulled his blog but this newest blog has been up for about a week and seems like it may stay online for a while. The address is http://truecasey.com/. It may require some background reading in order to fully grasp the whole story but if you feel like putting in the time, I assure you that you will be rewarded with hours of mind numbing entertainment. If you start reading it let me know and we can converse about the latest goings on...

Confetti

When I went to the University of Pittsburgh I had a work study job for about 20 hours/week working at a psychiatric hospital. I worked in the office of psychiatry on the second floor which was pretty mundane as far as floors were concerned, it was just offices. When you went up to the upper floors that's where all of the weird shit went down. My job was to wait in the back and hand deliver packages whenever anybody needed something to go somewhere. Sometimes the packages would need to be delivered upstairs, sometimes accross the street and sometimes accross campus which was like a 1.5 mile walk each way. Anyhow it was a pretty cool gig, my boss was my girlfreinds roomate so it was pretty laid back. We could get alot of school work done while we had no packages to deiver. Anyhow the reason im writing this is becuase I remembered this kid I used to work with in college, he also was a work study that had the same job. He was a bit overweight and was you could tell he was a pretty big dork but he was ok in my book. I have no idea what his name was, always called him "Confetti". Now I know that everyone has there thing, I like to fish and hunt, all i can think about in the summer is fishing and in the fall i switch to a mild to moderate achery obsession. Allot of my friends are into sports and they live and die for it. This kid's thing was Confetti. Allow me to digress. Now working in an office can be boring at times but it has its perks. We had access to some cool bining machines to make our reports look awesome and we could make copies of things and what not. We also had a sweet industrial hole puncher. Now as you know hole punchers produce an incredible amount of those annoying small paper circles that are removed from the paper. This was the equivilant of 'cocaine' for young Confetti. You see, he and his friends from high school would religiously goto their old high schools football games, wait for a big play and hurl copious amounts of confetti into the air. I swear I watched him sit and punch holes in paper for hours to collect the confetti while we were working. He would punch different color paper in order to spicen up the look of his confetti. He would discuess how confetti was not allowed in the stadium and how he would sneak it into the games. He even discussed in detail about how he loves when its wet outside because after you threw your confetti it would stick to everything and not come off.

Now I know that in some circles, those who go to all of the high school football games are the "cool kids". But I assure you, Confetti and his buddies were not those guys. So I have no doubts that somewhere in some high school football stadium, is a twenty somehting year old Confetti, overweight, college graduate who is tossing clouds of confetti into the air as the local fifteen year old football player runs for a 3 yard gain and looks up and wonders "who the hell is that guy"?

Thought I would share..

Sontavas 100th post and Birthday

I woke up this morning at 5am to go and meet a few complete strangers that I met on a kayak fishing forum and do a bit of fishing. Unfortunately mother nature did not cooperate and I awoke to thunder and lightning and had to abort the trip. I was bummed because I went kayak fishing on Thursday and caught some fish, but that time I went with people with whom I actually know.

Not much new to report here in life. Wedding planning is in full swing and has totally consumed every woman with whom I talk with. Just over one month away, its getting down to the wire here. We went to Pittsburgh last weekend for Chars wedding shower party thing. I was told I had to "make an appearance" at the end and pop in and say hello. Now I have obviously never been to a wedding shower so I had no idea what to expect. I was only there for about 5 mins but I will surmise my observations for men that may have to experiance an event like this in the future. The obvious analogy to fishing will be used so that most men can comprehend. Men, you know how sometimes you get out on the water and its flat and calm just a perfect day for some fishing, then off in the distance you see birds going crazy and the water look as if a giant methane bubble has errupted from the sea. You stear the boat (or paddle, depending on your vessle) over to see whats going on and when you arrive you see a giant school of baitfish just being attcked by bluefish in insane feeding frenzy..

A bridal Party is kinda like that..

In unrelated news this is Sontavas 100th post and birthday. Im not sure when the actual date is but its sometime around here so why not celebrate it now right.
